Black Girl Lost

What're the stereotypes of black women in the country you from? Chances are they're the same stereotype from all over the world. Loud, aggressive, rude. Black women especially dark-skinned black women are the most misunderstood and hated human beings on this earth. Any injustices that are happening in this world, are nothing compared to the harsh treatment, hatred and struggle dark skin black women endure. I speak mainly on dark skin women because colourism occurs in societies of colour. Society has made "light skin brown" women the most aesthetically pleasing women on the planet so the struggles don't apply to them. If you look on TV at what complexion represents your nation. You will notice they show the most aesthetically pleasing women to European standards. light skinned straight-haired, light-eyed women. Telemundo, Bollywood, Nollywood. All depict the women of those nations to be fair-skinned and the European standard of beauty. If you look at Hip Hop videos over the years, the leading lady was always light-skinned brown women. Dark skin women have been overlooked for centuries.

During slavery lighter-skinned women, due to being the product of rape most of the time, Became the most acceptable form of the black race and in today's generation, this still seems the be the pattern. We still see dark skin women be disrespected and criticized for trying to be accepted into a society that won't accept or respect them because they are reminders of failed attempts made to eradicate the black race. As long as black women remain on this earth, the black race will continue to exist and fight for equality in a world that has stripped black people of so much of ourselves. I speak on this because black girls are going missing. Sex trafficking, Black girls being taken for organs. All these things are happening and they are being overlooked because the complexion of these women are too dark for society to care. I want to change the attitude being shown towards black women. Understand the misunderstanding of a black women's attitude is due to everything in society being against them. Plain and simple. You look at all the attributes that promote beauty. Not one thing praises the contribution or the qualities of black women. A black woman has all the physical attributes that women of other races desire to have.

The cosmetic crazes of late are all mimicking attributes black women naturally have. Fuller lips, bigger butts. The natural assets that black women were ridiculed for over the years but are now appealing as they are not associated with black women in modern society. A bigger or rounder ass is now associated with a "Brazillian" (Another ethnicity of people associated with blacks but due to European mixing is a more appealing race to European standards). The fuller lips that black women have been abused about for centuries is now being mimicked by some of the biggest European decent celebrities making it desirable for western society. Yet even tho these attributes stem from black women dark skin black women are still being disrespected and seen as the ugliest women alive. It pains me to see this same energy be given to black women from black men. Preference is preference. What you may prefer is fine, but don't put down the black women especially a dark skin woman just because they don't appeal to you.

The black woman is the strongest woman on this earth. The mother of civilisation. The strength that a black woman has got is unmatched in my eyes because I don't think any other race of women would be able to survive the mental and physical abuse they receive every time they wake up in this world. Black men, we have to do better in respecting our black women. We cannot let no other men disrespect them, especially in our presence. Don't let other races of women feel like they're more superior to a black woman just because they have you. That's not the narrative we're trying to push. They must be respected and treated in the same manner maybe even a little better because they've been torn down so much that they need to be valued more than any other women.

Black women love yourselves wholeheartedly. Embrace all that is yours. Your hair, your lips your nose, your skin. Your Melanin is so superior and such a blessing that the darker you are the more magical you are. A real man will see past your complexion and see the real beauty you possess. I titled this black girl lost because I believe that black women are being pushed to extinction in society. They're being conditioned to do everything possible to not be who they are and the ones that are proud to be black are fighting stereotypes every single day. Let's try to change the way we see ourslves. Try to bring that values and pride to our complexions and if we respect our black women and fight and defend them more then everyone else won't have a choice but to do the same thing. Unity within the race is the beginning. Regardless of your complexion, we are still one and all black women from the lightest to the darkest are beautiful.
