So its the end of the year and as usual we go through our routine of reflecting back on the year. The positives we experienced throughout the year and the negatives we leaned from now allows us the chance to start fresh and make the necessary changes to make our lives better. How do we do this?
Usually, we set goals. New Year resolutions. It can be anything from wanting to lose weight, changing your diet, getting a promotion at work.
Whatever your goals, your targets. Don't allow for life's challenges and distractions to detur you from it. Sometimes the targets we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year are the same targets we have tried to accomplish year after year. So why are we still stuck on the same objective? Life. Eat, sleep, work, repeat. The struggles and strains of life have us so stretched as it is, that is doesn't seem physically or mentally possible to add any more things to our load. But it must be done. In order for our own personal goals to be met, we must look at ourselves and prepare ourselves for a change in how we approach life. Time is something that we take for granted. There are things in life we always feel like we can do later or think we have all the time in the world to complete. We don't. Time waits for no one and what's even worse than a lot of us lacking financial literacy is us having poor time management skills. Example, let's just say there's a written project you need to study and write about. The average persons in their mid-20s early 30s first reaction when they wake up is to pick up their phone and go on social media for a couple of minutes. The same time that was spent boosting other peoples endorphins by liking their pictures could have gone towards you researching for your project. We have conversations with our peers at times and say we don't have time to do certain things cause we're so busy but maybe that's just us not knowing how to manage our time in this day and age. The generations before didn't have such a high level of competition to compete with to gain success. There weren't as many distractions that prevented you from focusing on the goals that you set yourself. Televisions I would say was the first social distraction for the masses but other than that, you still had time to do more for yourself. So how do we manage to bypass all of these distractions in the modern era? The best way to stay motivated and to stay ambitious is to try and associate everything we have the power to control with what we want to achieve meaning everything that we do in life must relate to the goals we want to achieve. If we want to lose a few pounds or gain muscle or even just be generally happier people, we must make everything we do relate to what we wanna achieve. We have to wake up and if we look at social media, we gotta look at things that relate to our goals. Everything we do needs to have a purpose towards our goals even the smallest thing that you don't think is a big deal must goal towards your goals. It takes 6 weeks to turn something you do into a habit. Give yourself 6 weeks to work on what you want to accomplish. Commit to it wholeheartedly and you will make it part of your everyday routine. We must take control of our lives and make sure the things we are doing are things that will give us fulfillment and a sense of purpose.
2020 Is the year of clear vision and focus, 20/20 vision.See targets and objectives clearly and give all you can to achieve them. Your life is your own. your happiness is your own. you have the power and the ability to and control you become a better version of yourself. I wish every single person who wants to better themselves all the encouragement possible to make this happen. Be brave and commit fully to the things you want to achieve this year. This all started with Nipsey Hussle's death for me. Triggered me into understanding that the actions have to back the words being spoken. You can talk a good game but you must want to play it also and play it to win. and the prize? Is self-fulfillment and happiness. Happy New Year.
