The Act To Inspire
2020 has seen some iconic people in the entertainment industry pass. Most recently being Chadwick Boseman. He had Colon Cancer for a numerous amount of years, and very few people were aware of this. What makes this such an inspirational story is the fact that he was aware of this and still manage to give us incredible, classic movies that we will continue to watch such as Get on Up, 42 and of course Black Panther.
He shows us that when faced with something as terrible as cancer, you still have the power and control to do the things you want to even though you know your time is limited. Times has always been limited, but we have created this ideology that we have all the time in the world, and death is something that should be feared.
What Chadwick has shown us is that we can do incredible things for others and motivate others to achieve their goals even when facing our own uncertainties in life.
Nipsey Hussle said the highest human act in life is to inspire. To see Chadwick Boseman's strength in this situation is something that cannot be overlooked. I use this as motivation for myself to let me know that we are capable of achieving anything we set our minds to. This also shows me that we are incredible beings. Human strength is mostly mental. The fact that there is scientific proof that we don't utilize all our brain goes to show how much potential we have. Chadwick Boseman used the strength he had left to encourage, inspire and help touch the lives of so many people. He gave people a reflection of themselves in a positive light. He managed to provide us with so much power as people while becoming weaker as the days passed. He could have wallowed in the situation he was in but instead used it to fuel the remaining years he had to be fulfilling and achieve outstanding accolades as an actor and as a human being. 2020 has been that type of year. It's a year where we see so much negativity around us and so much tragedy, and it gives you a decision to make. 2020 is a year that has asked you to look at yourself and decide what type of person you want to be.
Do you want to be the person that is consumed by the negativity around you? Or do you want to be the person who evolves from adversity?
I have heard so many people say how terrible 2020 has been but cannot say how it has negatively affected them. There are a lot of people in unfortunate positions, but there are a lot of people that are doing absolutely fine. Those are the people that I hear speaking for the misfortunate. I don't believe it should be like that. Right now is the time that people in better positions can do something to help anyone that is in need of support. It doesn't have to be financial. It can be mentally. It can be to mentally uplift another person, keep them focus on the task ahead. There's a lot of question we still need to be answered, and there are still things in the future that we are uncertain of, but if we take the initiative that Chadwick Boseman took, then we could help uplift people and give them hope even in the most challenging times.
He wasn't just an actor; he was a wonderful human being and a strong man. He had the hopes and dreams of kids from all over the world on his shoulders. He managed to elevate their aspirations to another level.
We saw a black president, but we had a real-life black superhero. He did the act that we only see in comics and movies. Our superhero sacrificed himself to give people hope and belief in ourselves. It's only right that we learn from this and try to become more selfless to help each other do more to become more. Chadwick Boseman's legacy will never be forgotten. His actions outdo his words of wisdom. His attitude in the moment of despair is contagious, and I hope this encourages more of us to take life by the scruff of the neck and take it to where we decide to be and live life with no limits to what we can achieve. Regardless of the time, we have left.
