Valentines Day Love
Valentine's Day is here! Couples look to each other to show appreciation towards one another by spoiling their spouses with gifts or taking them on dates. For those who feel pressured and overwhelmed by life's burdens, Valentine's Day is the perfect day to remind your partners how valuable they are to you. But what about the single people? The people who don't have that person to show them how special they are?
I've seen Valentine's Day have people go M.I.A for the whole day as they don't want to be reminded that they don't have anyone to share the day with. I have seen people hate the day and give reasons for why Valentines Day is the most meaningless holiday and has no impact on their life what so ever. I have even seen Valentine's Day put people back into their toxic relationships just because they hate being alone on the day.
Valentine's Day shouldn't cause you to hide away from the world or even reflect on your past failed relationships. Valentine's Day should allow you to show yourself how much you love yourself. For people who are single take this day as an opportunity to pamper yourself. Use the day as a type of self-love day. Self Love is something that is being encouraged in today's society. With so much ambitious people in the world, there is a time where we go through being single to focus on either our careers or studies or even just to focus on saving money. While other holidays could also show us the struggles we are enduring to balance work and our personal lives, Valentine's Day seem like the day people feel the effect's of being single but is a perfect day to treat ourselves and boost our self-esteem.
Valentine's Day is about love, but it doesn't have to be received from another person. The love that you have for yourself should make a day like Valentine's Day bring out the happiest version of yourself. With so much people in a positive mood, the day should encourage you to reflect on the positive traits that you have. The fact that you are single is just a formality. Don't take that as a negative take it as a reason to get to know yourself and enjoy yourself more. Go to a spa or a movie or go to a park and just enjoy the beauty that you are a part of. Take the positives of the world your living in and appreciate the time you have for yourself. If you have kids and they're at school set yourself a bath light some candles have a glass of wine and just enjoy your inner peace. If your a man and you feel affected by the day, take the day to love you. Be vain. Every mirror should be your friend catch yourself looking at yourself. believe you are amazing. That positive energy will be felt by anyone that is around you and will impact your day in such a positive way.
Valentine's Day shouldn't be the only day where you reflect and appreciate yourself but let it be the first day that you change your perspective of how you feel about being single. Take this day as the start of becoming the most amazing version of yourself and it will be worth it cause the main person that will enjoy the best version of you first, will be you. Hope everyone has a day filled with love, happiness and inner peace.
