Back 2 The Future
Finally.
It's been a while that I've had a chance even to sit down and write anything. So much has happened over the past few months regarding my life, and so much has happened in society. New Variants of the Coronavirus have governments at a crossroads on whether another lockdown is necessary, with many opposing the idea due to a complete economic collapse. No one knows if they're coming or going if they're staying in or allowed out, Vaccination passports and Anti Vaccers.
We've seen The Haitian President be assassinated, and his wife survive after they were victims of a home invasion.
We have seen racism come back to the forefront of the media after the racial abuse three black British players received in The Euros after England failed to beat Italy in a penalty shootout.
There is, of course, the ongoing injustice happening in Palestine and many more issues that have been going on these last couple of months. I'm only one person, so I can only speak from a perspective and an understanding that I believe is beneficial to me and anyone who feels like they can relate.
So where are we at?
What will my new content talk about?
Honestly...
I'm going to be doing more content about stages in life.
Diversify the content by reviewing books and music, new and old.
Talk about the mentality of people in different relationships and, of course, more content on being positive and motivated.
Staying motivated is extremely difficult.
Being away from my page for two months is evidence of that.
Sometimes I see things happening in the media and feel like I've touched on that issue before. I have two articles Kick It Out and The English Black Man That have already described the racism in football and the mentality of the black man in Britain. The same situations occurring over and over again can become disheartening. The fact the same issues have to be discussed again also shows you the lack of change in the world. I'm starting to understand that certain things have to remain the same for the world to continue to go in the direction that benefits the elites. We know if there is a real need for something to be changed, it will be. So the fact that we're still discussing racial issues in the biggest sport in the world shows that humanity is no longer as valuable to corporations as it used to be. The staff and people that work in these industries will still be subject to racism as long as the people paying the money don't care about racism.
Once they do, the money to limit racism drives companies to do something about it, but they return to square one once that money dries up. Society has become so money-driven that even the way we view things now has become blurred by numbers. We now have the mentality that if there is money attached to it, it must be important.
World issues are now becoming media campaigns, and the ones with the most financial backing or have the most to gain financially are the ones that get pushed ahead. Because the mentality of the masses is now about financial gain, we see people supporting whatever has the most money. The bandwagon mentality has always been there, but more directly, the money has compromised peoples rationale. Society struggles to put logic behind some of the issues occurring in society because it either doesn't impact them directly or because there's money in the equation. We've already seen other athletes such as Colin Kapernick and Lebron James be told to play the game and leave their views on injustices out of their interviews because they get paid a lot of money. Recently we have also seen Naomi Osaka step away from tennis for the same reason. These Athletes have a platform to bring issues to the attention of the masses. Still, corporations don't want to support the views of the athletes they endorse because they are afraid the athletes' opinions will financially affect the companies. So with the media questioning the agenda of Athletes making stances, it influences groups of people to view these athletes as disobedient to the brands and companies they are endorsed by. The mentality of those groups is impacting more and more people in society as it's now becoming an "I don't pay you to think" attitude. That mentality also trickles into the working class society, making work discrepancies more challenging because employees fear losing income if they voice issues. This creates an attitude that makes companies dictate work conditions, allowing them to be harsh and push work performance limits. These conditions create mental health issues because people are being muted in expressing the strains and demands society is putting on them. With the be grateful for the little with giving you mentality coming back into the world, will we be looking at these times in the future as modern-day slavery?
