Black Thoughts 101 - June

It's been a minute since I wrote a post. With so many things that life has to put us through, how do we find the time to pursue our purposes? I've spent the last few months reading multiple books, back to back. Finishing one after another. Trying to gain more insight into myself to allow me to create more helpful content for others. One thing that I've come to terms with is that challenges are always going to happen in life. From the day you are born you find challenges such as learning how to walk, until old age and going through whatever challenges life serves you at that age. We are always on the go if we are trying to achieve. We are always trying to do our best to stay motivated in all aspects of our lives. We start off positive, focused, energised and full of belief that the challenges ahead are ready to be beaten to a pulp. Until we face our first set back. It could be trying to be an aspiring artist and having all the talent needed to be amazing especially in this era of music (Just my opinion). You have your music ready to be listened to but you just don't have the confidence to let others hear it. You build up enough courage to share the music with close friends and family and the response they give is not the same excitement you felt when making the music. It hurts. It’s a blow to your self-esteem, your confidence. They have made you feel like you are not good enough. So now what do you do? Do you quit? Of course you don't. You have to understand that it takes consistency and an unwavering will to want what you want. And to achieve this goal you would have to give up everything just to attain it. Sometimes it is a very deep journey that you are undertaking alone. It shows you who you are as a person. This is what people who go to university endure. I have discovered as much as University is to further your education, it's also a discovery of the person you thought you were and what you are becoming. Some people have never left the comforts of their families’ homes. They have been taken care of for a lot of their teens and now they are off to university. They face the challenge of being independent. The challenge of organising their time and working alongside and against other individuals who are also facing the exact same challenge as themselves. They have to endure distractions of maybe a partner or distractions of their social life interfering with their schooling. These are the tests that show you how much do you really want. What you initially said you did. When they fail a test, is that it for them? Do they just give up? No. They make the changes they need to, to make sure that they are focused and prepared to do it all over again and this time achieve what they have to. It's not always about acceptance either. We work so hard to be accepted into whatever industry we think we belong in and don't realise at times the rejection means to create your own lane. Jay Z was rejected by multiple record labels when he first came out and decided that he should create his own label and put out his own music. Now he is the richest Rapper in the world with a net worth of 1 Billion dollars. He never gave up. He stayed true to his purpose. He made the changes he needed to, with the setbacks he endured. Through perseverance and consistency and an unwavering belief he achieved high levels of success. He has reached unbelievable heights and he has inspired others like him to take the same journey of self-fulfilment. It’s a journey easier said than done. Surround yourself with like-minded people. This will also keep you motivated and the transfer of similar energy will help keep your head in the game. Advice that I take deeply is that you should be so afraid of quitting once you start because you really have no idea how close you are to achieving your goals. The longer you invest in yourself the fear of failure should become unbearable. Take a deep look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself how much do you want the things you desire and what will you do to achieve it. I hope that this information is the start of something great for you, the reader, and myself. As I wrote in my bio. I'm on a journey of self-fulfilment and I hope we can go on this journey together. Stay focused Cause this life really is a marathon as the late great Nipsey reiterated. TMC.
